Hi I don’t know if this will be of interest to you. Photo horse-drawn-ice-cream- cart-85496c0ee1052aa70fa241996fe03ff26d6108b.

My father grew up at 103 Hoole Hoole Road 1932 onwards. His father owned Brodhurst LTD on the corner of Westminster road in Hoole along with my father when he grew up. In WW11, 103 Hoole road was the main air warden office ran by my grandfather. The Horse and cart from Lewis Ice cream used to pull my father and other children wearing skates up what is now park drive. My father used to tell me how this poor horse struggled to pull them all up the hill along with the cart.

When I was very young I used to go into the ice cream parlour and Mr Lewis gave me as much free ice cream as I could eat, nice chap.

Just as a point of interest I also went across the road to a family friend I remember as Mr Bammel, he owend the gaurauge that stood there in the early 1960s and lived at Upton.

I also found other photos on your site and recognised people shown, one was of my mother, grandmother, uncle and aunt in 1953 in Pine Grove at the jubilee.

Hope this is of interest to you.
